DOA Talk and workshop.

02/06/2022 @ 10:00 - 17:00 CEST

ARC, Talk and Workshop by the project ‘Black Swan’
On The 2nd of June ARC will host a talk and a workshop from the Collective Trust about the project  Black Swan https://www.goethe.de/ins/gb/en/kul/zut/dao/dab.html . Leith, a member, will give a talk in the morning about their collective and the use of the DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisations) in the project Black swan, specifically their funding and voting systems and why it is relevant now to question traditional grant-based funding models. This will be hosted by Adri and Henry.
After lunch, we will have an active workshop showing how to use the newly developed Cygnet (our consensus-building tool) app. This is a digital quadratic voting system to award grants. In addition. Leith has asked for extra funds for the workshop (150 euro x3). This money will be used by the ARC members to decide on how funds should be distributed. I think this is a great opportunity for ARC as a collective to come together and contemplate a new way to govern communities. In addition, it will be a good way to select a project we agree on to take forward. Below is a breakdown of the workshop for more detail.
1-Interests and skill indexing (all participants will share a note regarding specialized knowledge, technical abilities, and interests) (1h)
2-Teaming up and open proposal writing (In an open doc, participants will start drafting proposals alone or with their group. These proposals can focus on art projects, investments for the organization…etc. They can both open and closed to more collaborators) (2h)
3-Voting phase (1h)
4-Results (30m)
5-Debrief (1h)
There is one caveat. This workshop does require more funds as the 450 euro will come out of the collective budget., in short it will cost a bit more than a normal workshop. However, I think it is worth it to kick start a new project together.
As a result, I really hope we have a good turnout for the workshop and all members can attend the workshop and also the lecture in the morning.  The afternoon workshop will start at 1 pm (location, not defined yet.  Most likely Frank mohr building).
Leith requested numbers of attendance in advance. So please reply to this letting us know if you can attend the workshop.
